Trollhättan is located about 70 km north of Gothenburg. The town has turned into an attractive suburb to Gothenburg, much thanks to the new motorway and the double track railway.
People living here have discovered that Trollhättan represents a high quality of life with the calmness of a smaller town, yet providing all that an urban lifestyle has to offer. Access to nature and water is close by, not just the Göta Älv river, waterfall and the locks, but also Lake Vänern and the west coast.
The generous selection of restaurants, culture and nightlife available is further supported by University West and its 12,000 students. If you wish to visit the larger city of Gothenburg it is a mere 30 minutes away by train. All this, in combination with property prices being 50% lower than in Gothenburg, continually add to the appeal of Trollhättan and the reason why many choose to move here.
Apart from NEVS there are many large employers in the area, such as GKN Aerospace, Combitech, Siemens, Vattenfall, NÄL (Northern Älvsborg County Hospital) and the local Trollhättan Council. And not to be forgotten – Trollywood – where movie productions are frequent with both Swedish and international movies further establishing Trollhättan as something out of the ordinary.
