Den 5 december 2017 är en milstolpe för elbilstillverkaren NEVS. Det var då den allra första elbilen blev klar i företagets nya fabrik i Tianjin. Därmed har NEVS gått från design- till industrialiseringsfasen av den nya NEVS 9-3.

Detta är också ett viktigt steg när det gäller att implementera NEVS vision om att skapa mobilitet för ett mer hållbart samhälle och att börja leveranser av elbilar till företagets kunder. Den nya fabriken har en kapacitet om 50 000 elbilar i projektets första fas och 220 000 bilar i planen för fas två.

NEVS arbetar med tre generationer av elbilar, med innovations- och utvecklingscenter både i Sverige och Kina. Den andra och tredje generationens elbilar kommer att utvecklas i nära samverkan med DiDi Chuxing, som NEVS träffade samarbetsavtal med i Trollhättan den 25 oktober. 

Bilindustrin förändras mycket snabbt, inte bara genom övergången från konventionella bilar till elbilar, utan också mot förarlösa bilar och mot nya affärsmodeller där kunderna vill använda bilar, utan att man måste äga dem.

DiDi, som är världsledande inom mobilitetslösningar, förklarade under hösten att man vill ha en miljon elbilar i sin flotta till 2020. Som en viktig samarbetspartner kommer NEVS att erbjuda DiDi kostnadseffektiva elbilslösningar.

Dessutom har DiDi, GEICO (Global Energy Interconnection Corporation) och NEVS tillsammans bildat ett Joint Venture under namnet GNEVS (Global New Energy Vehicle Service Company) som kommer att erbjuda servicetjänster och infrastruktur till den växande flottan av elbilar som kunden beställer vid behov. Det nya företaget ska underlätta både uppbyggnaden av infrastruktur och erbjuda olika tjänster för både elbilskunder och skapa ökat kundvärde för de aktörer som erbjuder dessa tjänster.

FACTS ON NEVS AB

NEVS was founded in 2012 and acquired the main assets of the Saab Automobile bankruptcy estates. The company has been mainly owned by NME Holdings Ltd., Tianjin Bin Hai Hi-tech Industrial Development Area (THT) and State Research Information Technology Co., Ltd. (SRIT).

In January 2017, the Chinese government approved NEVS’ application to start production of electric vehicles in its manufacturing plant in Tianjin. NEVS is the first joint venture company with investors from outside China that is granted a New Energy Passenger Vehicle Project investment approval by NDRC.   

In May 2017, NEVS launched a city mobility program with THT to offer car-sharing and ride-hailing solutions in the Tianjin city, with 15 million inhabitants.

FACTS ON DIDI CHUXING

Didi Chuxing is the world’s leading mobile transportation platform. The company offers a full range of mobile tech-based mobility options for around 400 million users, including taxi hailing, private car hailing, Hitch (social ride-sharing), DiDi Chauffeur, DiDi Bus, DiDi Minibus, DiDi Car Rental and DiDi Enterprise Solutions. Now DiDi is building a cloud platform with integrate anonymized data from sensors on vehicles, static information and real-time events from roads and streets with DiDi's pick-up and drop-off data, trips and carry capacity. With this platform, transportation supply and demand can be balanced efficiently, and congestion can be significantly mitigated.
